We had dinner at Penca Cocina. The food was good and a lively atmosphere. But what impressed me was the service. I believe it was the owner, who made sure everyone was happy. He brought crayons to children at a neighboring table. You can tell he takes great pride in the restaurant. The kind of dedication you do not always see in the service industry.

Penca is fantastic! They have the most amazing food in San Jose del Cabo and the staff provides exceptional service! The shrimp tacos are like no taco you have ever had and busting with flavor. Loved the Mezcalita!! The eggs Benedict is a little small but also fabulous. Best green juice in Cabo! Don’t forget to get the churros. They are made fresh and have a rich chocolate dipping sauce. It’s the best place to watch sports. I ate here several times in 2 weeks. Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Nice patio to sit on. Very friendly servers. Food comes out hot and ready to eat. Their 2x1 drink special is awesome and great if you like to have a little booze on your vacation. Their breakfast Benedict is to die for and I wish I snapped a photo of it. It reminds me of breakfast back up home in the USA. Sometimes it’s nice to feel like you’re back at home while on vacation.

We had breakfast this morning at Penca. I had the roasted cinnamon roll with fruit and lemon curd while my husband had avocado toast. Both were delicious and the portions more than satisfying. Coffee is superb and the service beyond excellent. Highly recommend and we will return.

The atmosphere got us there, but the food really stole the show. I order shrimp tacos pretty much everywhere, and these were hands down the best I’ve ever had. Plus the 2 for 1 drinks?? Say less. They also accommodated my gluten-free mom and had a kids menu for my little sisters! To top it off the service was great . 100/10 recommend. Will be back tomorrow.

Two restaurants in San Jose are favorites due to their consistent excellence and charming atmospheres: Penca, across from hotel row, and Agave, in the Arts District. We’ve been going to each, often more than once, each trip to Baja CA since each one opened. Christian & Vidy are incredible hosts and Don Miguel, the founder, is a wonderful storyteller, esp. when he’s had a tequila or two. If you’re lucky enough that he’s there when you are, tell him Roz and I say hi! We’ll be back again and again!

What truly impressed us was the generosity of the portions; you definitely get your money's worth and leave feeling completely satisfied. The drinks were equally delightful, perfectly complementing the vibrant flavors of the cuisine. The ambiance of the restaurant added to the overall experience, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. If you find yourself in Los Cabos, do yourself a favor and make a reservation at Penca Cocina de Brasa. It's an absolute must-go for anyone seeking a delicious meal with generous servings in a wonderful setting. We can't wait to return!
